It's a banger of a set. I bought them from the kickstarter campaign and was really excited. And in the end the excitment was for a good reason. The knives a razor sharp and handle like a charm. Cooking is more fun now (and i already really liked cooking). And it's a real conversation starter when you add the knive block and display them in your kitchen.

Great to hold. Sharp but not razor sharp out of the box. Finishing of the knifes is not great. The knifes mountain pattern has very different darkness. Some are almost completely black and some has no black at all. When you look at the steel the transition from the shaft part to the mountain pattern is very different on each knife. Almost like they grinned off the metal too far or not enough. The handles are nice to hold, but there is small holes in the wood. Never saw that on any other wooden handle. 

I love the design and the set, but wish they had a better finish.

After a bit of elbow grease I managed to get that off, but this was difficult with the texture and something I don't believe that I need to do with brand new knives. Additionally they rust SO easy. My wife washed one knife then left it on a drying rack and it was back to scrubbing the rust off. Another knife was left on a cutting board overnight, just sitting next to the sink and it had rust appear on the bottom. I have enjoyed the functionality and shape of the knives but given that you have to wash and dry them nearly immediately after use; I don't really see myself recommending them to a friend. This is a shame because I've had multiple people comment on how nice they look mounted on the wall with the magnet strip.

The set was supposed to be made of stainless steel. The knives get covered with rust so badly I'm not even sure if they aren't a health hazard at this stage. Additionally the beautiful engraved surface is difficult to get the rust out of. To be honest I'm quite annoyed with myself for spending so much money on these just because they were beautiful. I mean they are also very sharp and good quality apart from the rust problem, but it's a huge problem for me.

These knives are super sharp and very pretty, unfortunately they rust if you even have water in the same room as them. That is obviously a bit of a of an exaggeration. However, as another reviewer noted, if you leave them wet for pretty much any amount of time, even as small as five minutes sink, you will develop rust on these knives. I left them in a sink, with just water droplets in it and the whole knife rusted. I also had two knives show up that were already rusted. I did reach out to the company and they suggested that I use steel wool to remove the superficial rust, this did help and does remove the rest. My family has two sets of Hinckels and I have the impression that these knives are trying to compete with Hinckel, my parents have had the same set of Hinckel knives for the past 35 years and there has never, I mean never, ever ever ever, been a spot of rust on those knives. Meanwhile they show up with rust already on them, buyer beware, you were going to get a really nice shark set of knives but you were going to be dealing with rust the whole time.
